Hello and welcome to Climate Change Solutions!

This week's newsletter features California's recently enacted climate laws and opportunities to reduce U.S. methane emissions.

On the international stage, the United Nations climate conference COP27 kicked off in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, over the weekend. Each day of the conference focuses on a different theme, including the first-ever day dedicated to biodiversity. Sea level rise, climate change loss and damage, and natural climate solutions are also expected to be a focus throughout the conference. After Summer of Heat Waves and Blackouts, California Enacts Ambitious Climate Legislation

In response to a summer plagued by drought, wildfires, and record-breaking heat, California enacted 40 climate-related laws in the first two weeks of September. Climate Summit Recap: Key Outcomes and What Comes Next

Release of National Survey Results on Support for Natural Climate Solutions
This event will take place at COP27 in the Nature Zone Board Room and will not be livestreamed.

U.S. Nature4Climate (USN4C) will be releasing the results of a national survey of registered voters focused on support for natural climate solutions in the United States. EESI Executive Director Daniel Bresette will be speaking at this event. After the event, poll results will be released here.
