Emma Johnson

Emma was a senior communications associate at EESI. She created content for this website and for our social media channels. Before joining EESI, Emma worked for three years as a freelance journalist, sharpening her professional environmental communication experience as she wrote about climate and energy for Mongabay, RTO Insider, the Chesapeake Bay Magazine, and other publications. She is a two-time Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting Fellow, covering hydropower development in Bhutan and trout farming in Western North Carolina. Emma holds a Master in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment and a BS in environmental studies from Davidson College.
