Environment & Energy Congressional Round-Up | September 19-23

Highlights:

Last week, the Senate ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. The Kigali Amendment initiates a “gradual phasedown” of hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) production and use. To read more, check out EESI’s press release on the amendment.

Meanwhile, the House passed the Little Manatee Wild and Scenic River Act (H.R.4358), which would designate a section of that Florida river to be potentially added to the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.

Draft text of Senator Joe Manchin’s (D-W.Va.) energy permitting bill, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2022, was released last week.
