From November 8-12 multiple bills were introduced in Congress regarding wildlife protection and natural science research. H.R.5948 would further research in Antarctica, H.R.5957 would introduce protections for marine mammals, and H.R.5958 would increase penalties for oil spills.
Forty-four members of Congress were in Glasgow, Scotland throughout the COP26 international climate negotiations from October 31-November 12. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) gave a speech on November 9 assuring Congressional support for the proposed climate action in the Biden-Harris Administration’s Build Back Better framework.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, H.R.3684, which passed the House on November 5, was sent to President Biden on November 8. He is expected to sign it this week.
