The House Science, Space, and Technology Committee held a hearing on detecting and quantifying methane emissions from the oil and gas sector. A few months ago, EESI sat down with Lara Owens, manager of climate intelligence at RMI, to discuss quantifying and reducing methane emissions through certification systems. Also on the topic of climate solutions, the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis held a hearing on the climate benefits of ocean-based solutions. The hearing occurred during Capitol Hill Ocean Week, where EESI’s Executive Director Daniel Bresette moderated a panel discussion on wind, water, and wave renewable energy.
