Environment & Energy Congressional Round-Up | January 3-7

There was a lull in Congressional activity from January 3 to 7. However, four bills, H.R.6147, H.R.6163, H.R.6336, and H.R.6337, introduced in the House in December were referred to committee.

H.R.6336 aims to prevent, suppress, and help communities recover from wildfires through fire management plans for federal lands and enhanced fire fighting equipment.

H.R.6147 would reestablish the Driftless Area Landscape Conservation Initiative (DALCI). The DALCI helped farmers and landowners in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin improve drinking water quality and mitigate flooding through prairie and stream restoration and woodland and grassland management.
