Highlights:

Last week, the House passed the Strategic Production Response Act (H.R.21) after dozens of amendments were offered up. The bill would limit use of Strategic Petroleum Reserve petroleum until the Department of Energy creates a plan to increase oil and gas production leases on federal lands.

Another Strategic Petroleum Reserve bill was also passed in the House earlier this month, the Protecting America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve From China Act (H.R.22). The bill would prohibit the sale and export of SPR petroleum to China.

Finally, the Federal Disaster Assistance Coordination Act (H.R.255) passed the House. The bill aims to improve and simplify the information gathering processes for disaster assistance applicants and grantees.
