Highlights:

A flurry of bills are headed to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law. Of those bills, the Protecting Firefighters from Adverse Substances Act (S.231) and Preventing PFAS Runoff at Airports Act (S.3662) would help prevent per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination. In addition, several bills such as the Community Disaster Resilience Zones Act (S.3875) focus on disaster management.

The STREAM Act (S.3957) passed the Senate and would allow states to set aside Infrastructure and Investment Act (P.L.117-58) funding for treatment of acid mine drainage, which is polluted water from abandoned coal mines.
