Thanksgiving is a time of gratitude, gathering close to your loved ones, and eating too many carbs. After the Black Friday rush and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a global philanthropic event that resets our minds on the importance of the holiday season. By giving to EESI, you can help put the country on a path towards climate change solutions!

When you give, you’re actually fueling change—propelling conversations about policy reforms to address climate change. You’re helping communities handle the intensity of a changing climate, by making buildings more resilient to rising sea levels and more frequent storms. By advocating for nature-based solutions such as mangroves (which help dissipate storm energy), you are pushing for investments in green solutions whose benefits literally grow over time.

And, you’re powering innovative financing—“on-bill financing”—for rural electric cooperative members in struggling rural areas. This allows for reduced energy costs, improved reliability, health, safety and comfort, and increased efficiency in rural households across the country while reducing fossil fuel use.

Our amazing donors already support the development and/or improvement of on-bill financing programs in 12 states: Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington. Help families in rural areas struggling with high energy bills cut their expenses—and emissions—when you give!

When you join us on Giving Tuesday, you’re pushing for a more sustainable economy and climate change solutions. How?

  1. Share our social media posts! Help spread win-win policy ideas.
  2. Donate online and help us raise $8,000 for climate solutions! You help bring local voices to Capitol Hill.
  3. Become a monthly donor! Climate action is achievable through little wins that add up—it’s budget-friendly for you and for us!

You make such an incredible difference. Win-win climate solutions for the economy and environment are both achievable and in the works—help us carry that momentum into 2020 and beyond. Addressing climate change is urgent and we can’t do it without you!
